Azura Retreats provides you with an ocean safari, including fantastic diving locations, enjoyable water activities, and whale watching. You can also fish for local species, go on educational guided marine walks where hundreds of ghost crabs scamper by, and see amazing turtle sightings at our 5-star Mozambican destinations. Contact our dive instructors if you want to learn to dive. Before your vacation, we strongly advise that you finish the theory component of your course at home. At Azura, eating is an integral part of the experience, whether it’s breakfast by the water, a picnic on a sand island, or dinner on a beach by candlelight. The hosts take great delight in their creative dining arrangements and thoughtful extras that make your stay memorable.

They provide a variety of the owner’s wines, notably those flown in from their Chateau in the Loire Valley in France, and a fantastic wine cellar for special wine tasting events and themed dinners ia also available.

The menus are centered on what is in season and fresh, with an emphasis on light fare, straightforward ingredients, and a lot of locally caught fish and seafood. It’s a low-key, straightforward affair. They always have a selection of foods, and the chef will gladly try to fulfill any special requests you may have. Community and life on the Island

Enjoy our island drive, one of the signature activities, while visiting Azura Benguerra Island. As you drive through numerous communities, you may meet with some of the native island residents. Your tour guide will enlighten you on the area’s history and way of life as you explore. You have the option of visiting Benguerra School. The organization Azura’s Rainbow Fund constructed this in 2008. Expect to meet the teachers and perhaps the headmaster while visiting the school, as well as observe the neighborhood kids attending class. If you are on a Sunday morning island tour, the guides might take you for a quick visit to a small church service. These represent a rare and distinctive cultural opportunity and are typically extremely highly attended by the local islanders. The Benguerra Island League, which consists of teams from the lodges and local island clubs, is another opportunity.
