The Victoria Falls Hotel, also referred to as “the grand old lady of the Falls,” is a member of the prestigious Leading Hotels of the World and is located in the Victoria Falls National Park, a landmark of international significance. Only three hotels in Zimbabwe are IS0-accredited, including this one.

Built in 1904 in the Edwardian architecture, this five-star hotel combines the ease of the present with the allure of the past. It offers the peace and privacy that many visitors seek because of its setting amid lush tropical gardens with lily ponds, palm trees, and semi-tropical vegetation. The renowned Victoria Falls can be reached within ten minutes through the hotel’s private pathway, and “the smoke that thunders,” or “Mosi-O-Tunya” in the local language, may be heard and seen from this opulent location.

The hotel attracts both locals and guests from around the world thanks to an exclusive service and unmatched selection and preparation of cuisine and beverages. A number of options are available, including the lavish Livingstone Room for exquisite dining and dancing, the Jungle Junction with its renowned breakfast and dinner buffets, and ethnic entertainment in the evenings. With a beautiful view of the Victoria Falls Bridge that connects Zimbabwe and Zambia, Stanley’s Terrace is well known for its afternoon teas and cocktails. For more than a century, travelers have gathered at The Terrace.

All of the hotel’s suites are designed in the elegant Edwardian style of Zimbabwe’s colonial era, giving the property a historical feel. For individuals who want to mix business with pleasure in a quiet and discreet setting, it is simple to set up small executive meetings and private dining facilities.

The property has a sizable pool, two tennis courts, a library, reading rooms, and a church. Golfers can play 18 holes on the championship course at Elephant Hills Resort, a nearby sister resort.

However, the Victoria Falls Hotel continues to be the top destination for tourists. It is more than just memorable; it is truly unique to wake up to “the smoke that thunders,” watch the sun rise through the mist of one of the seven natural wonders of the world, and experience the lunar rainbow at night. All of this takes place while immersing oneself in the history and atmosphere of a bygone era.

Standard rooms vs. deluxe rooms - what's the difference?

Currently, the only difference between the standard rooms and deluxe rooms at The Victoria Falls Hotel is the view. The Deluxe rooms face the bridge side of the hotel, while the standard rooms have views of the side gardens and back of the hotel. There are plans, however, to make changes to the hotel in the near future, and the deluxe rooms will undergo changes.
